Scope of Work
This public open space renewal in Quinns Rocks involved the coordinated upgrade of existing park infrastructure, including demolition works, playground construction, shade structure installation, hardscape construction, softscape landscaping, irrigation works, site remediation and compliance-focused handover.
Alldin’s scope included:
- Demolition and removal of outdated park equipment, playground assets and existing site elements
- Site preparation, survey and set-out of construction areas for public open space works
- Temporary security fencing, site safety controls and tree protection fencing
- Earthworks, fine grading, backfilling and remediation of disturbed areas
- Demolition works to the existing pergola area and ageing park structures
- Modification, retention and reuse of existing limestone elements where possible
- Installation of limestone block edging and limestone seating wall elements
- Hardscape construction, including paving interfaces, edging and landscape wall works
- Installation of compliant softfall rubber and softfall sand playground surfacing
- Installation of a custom Proludic trawler play fort as the central playground feature
- Installation of Proludic rope swing, rowing boat rocker and combination swing equipment
- Shade sail installation and upgraded shelter structure works for public comfort
- Mulch installation, planting, turf rectification and softscape landscaping works

Compliance, Surfacing and Handover
Following completion, the playground was independently inspected against relevant Australian playground standards, including equipment and surfacing requirements. This final compliance process was an important part of the local government construction handover, ensuring the renewed playground met the expectations required for a public community asset.
The completed play equipment was recorded as new-condition assets, and the playground was deemed suitable for public use. Softfall impact attenuation testing was also completed across multiple locations, with all tested rubber surfacing areas passing the required compliance thresholds, confirming the quality of the softfall rubber installation, playground surfacing works and public playground construction.
